Led by Dr Ray Shakman, MBBS, JBS, MRCGP — a GP with more than a decade of general and gastrointestinal surgical training, we offer a full range of minor surgical procedures, and revision procedures for lumps that have returned after treatment elsewhere.
You'll get clear answers, honest advice, and technical mastery, without the intimidating hospital atmosphere.
Your 3-Step Journey With Surgica Medical
We have removed the stress, the jargon and the waiting.
1. Consulation
A relaxed 20-minute assessment with Dr Shakman. He'll examine your lesion, give you a clear diagnosis, and agree a plan. Every question answered before you leave.
2. Procedure Day
You arrive fully informed and confident about what to expect. Your procedure takes place in a calm, private environment. Local anaesthetic ensures you are completely comfortable throughout.
3. Aftercare
Around 10 days later we'll check how your healing is progressing — by clinic visit, video call, or a photo sent directly to Dr Shakman. You're never discharged until you're fully healed.

Private GP appointments with a doctor who combines general practice with a background in gastrointestinal surgery.
Ideal for patients with digestive concerns, including reflux, abdominal pain, IBS, bowel habit changes and hernia assessment, who want a GP with surgical insight.
Minor Surgery & Skin Clinic
Starting from £495
Doctor-led removal of cysts, lipomas, moles, skin tags and other skin lesions at our private clinic in Exeter.
Every procedure is performed with a focus on complete removal, minimal scarring and excellent cosmetic outcomes. We welcome complex cases and patients who have had procedures fail elsewhere.
